#1 Beef, Lamb or Bison
These types of meat should make up the bulk of your calories for the day. A lot of people eating a carnivore diet eat mainly beef, and this is not just a coincidence. Beef (and lamb and bison) are among the most nutritious types of meat.
Don't shy away from fattier cuts! The fat is going to be what keeps you energized.
#2 Eggs
The yolks specifically are super nutritious and a great source of fat and protein. They are also rich in a few nutrients that beef is lacking in: vitamin K2, folate and choline.
#3 Coldwater, Oily Fish
This can be salmon, mackerel, herring, sardines or anchovies. Tinned is fine but opt for them in springwater over oil. If you are not big on fish, a tablespoon of high-quality cod liver oil works, too. If you are feeling fancy you can also include salmon roe.
#4 Bone Broth
This one is not mandatory but can definitely be beneficial for digestive health as well as the connective tissues in your body (skin, hair, nails and joints). It is rich in electrolytes, as well as being a great source of collagen! It is really easy to make your own at home, or you can buy it pre-made. I like this brand.
#5 Beef Liver
Again, this one does not have to be eaten daily. One serve a week is enough to take advantage of the nutritional benefits. If you do not like the taste, beef liver capsules are a subsitute.
It is impotant to not that beef liver is the most nutritious organ meat, but others including kidney and heart do have benefits as well.
